Is Android 16 Ready for the Redmi Note 11? My Initial Impressions of Titan OS (HyperOS 3.0)
After the successful installation of the Titan OS port, I’ve been putting this Android 16-based system through its paces. While it’s mind-blowing to see such a new OS on the Redmi Note 11, the experience is a mix of high-end aesthetics and budget-hardware limitations.
The Good: Visuals & Features
The “Liquid Glass” UI and the iOS-inspired widgets look stunning. The new lock screen customizations and live wallpapers (like the animated sheep!) make the device feel premium. Additionally, the inclusion of the Leica Camera app adds high-end features like Leica Vibrant and Authentic modes, though some modes like “Portrait” remain buggy on this hardware.
The Bad: Performance & Bloat
Despite the “90Hz” setting, there is noticeable scrolling jitter and lag in the opening/closing animations. It’s clearly a heavy ROM for the Snapdragon 680. I also noticed integrated ads in the App Finder and some pre-installed bloatware that feels intrusive compared to a clean AOSP build.
Banking & Security
The ROM passes Basic Integrity but fails Strong Integrity. While Google Pay works, more sensitive apps like HDFC Bank might detect the modified system as a security threat. You may need specialized tools like the “Curious Toolbox” to spoof the device profile for better app compatibility.
Final Verdict (For Now)
It’s a fantastic ROM for “feature hunters” who want the latest Android 16 look. However, for a daily driver, the performance hit might be too much for some.
