Asus Zenfone Lite L1: 6 Annoying ZenUI Bugs & Issues After 6 Months | Is ZenUI Stable? Major Issues on Asus Zenfone Lite L1 You Need to Know | Review: The Good & The Bad of ZenUI on Asus Zenfone Lite L1 (Long-Term Use)
Hey everyone, this is Kali from TechFanciers.
Today, we are taking a close look at the issues I have faced with ZenUI on the Asus Zenfone Lite L1. Now, don’t get me wrong—I am not discouraging the work put into this device. For its price range, this phone truly delivers 100% value for money.
However, after using it for the past six months, there are some persistent bugs and UI glitches that need attention. If Asus fixes these, this UI could go from “good” to “the best.” Let’s dive into the list.
1. The “Download Pending” Play Store Bug This is a common and frustrating issue. Often, when you try to download an app from the Play Store, it gets stuck on “Download Pending” forever.
- The Fix: You usually have to restart the device for the download to actually start. Sometimes, it even says “Pending” for an entire day!
2. Missing Network Activity Indicator For those of us who switch between networks frequently (like moving from WiFi to Data), the lack of a network indicator in the status bar is annoying.
- Note: Most modern skins like MIUI have this standard. It’s a small feature, but a big miss here.
3. Poor RAM Management & Multi-Touch Issues
- Aggressive Closing: The system kills background apps too aggressively to save memory. For example, if you switch from a payment app (like GPay) to Amazon to check a product, the Amazon app might reload, causing the payment to fail.
- Multi-Touch Glitch: While gaming (like in PUBG), the screen sometimes ignores multi-touch inputs, forcing you to turn the screen off and on to reset the touch response.
4. No Native Night Light (Blue Light Filter) Unlike earlier versions of ZenUI (which had the “Splendid” app), this build lacks a native Blue Light Filter or Night Mode.
- Why it matters: Using the device at night disrupts your sleep cycle, and you have to rely on third-party apps, which isn’t ideal.
5. Internal SD Card “Hidden” Feature The device has limited internal storage (16GB), so we should be able to format an SD card as internal storage. While Android Marshmallow introduced this, ZenUI hides the option.
- The Reality: You can unlock this feature, but it requires a workaround. It should be natively available to help users with low storage.
6. The “Distress Number” Panic Call This is perhaps the most annoying bug. If you accidentally press the power button multiple times (which can happen in a pocket or bag), the phone automatically calls the emergency distress number (112).
- The Issue: It vibrates and calls automatically, sometimes even when you are just trying to wake the device. There is no easy way to disable this sensitivity.
Conclusion These bugs aren’t deal-breakers for everyone, but they definitely hinder the daily experience. If you are facing other issues or have found fixes for these, let me know in the comments below!
